9 Year Olds Know Everything, It Seems
Posted by FefeToday is one of those lucky days where thanks to timetables, collections and whatnot, I find myself with the afternoon all to myself and manage to stumble across something to brighten up my exam and rain damped day.
Since during my free time, I like to catch up on my RSS feeds (I need to clean some of them up though – those that don’t really catch my interest anymore.), one of which is the weird news from the Telegraph’s website. I found this little ditty today sitting in my RSS feed, waiting for me to read it lovingly.
Since 2009 hit us, I’ve been looking forwards to Valentine’s Day, I’m not even sure why, because I sure as hell don’t seem to be having much luck with the lads (to be critical of myself – I’m not really trying anymore), but the temptation to go out and buy this book is so great – even if it was written by a little boy for other little boys.
A quote from the Telegraph’s Article;
Nuggets of advice include combing your hair, cutting down on sugar and knowing that while 73 per cent of regular girls “ditch boys”, the rate increase to 98 per cent for pretty girls.
He wrote that: “It is easy to spot pretty girls because they have big earrings, fancy dresses and all the jewellery. Pretty girls are like cars that need a lot of oil.”
The way he wrote it is magnificent for a boy of his age, observing his peers (it’s a little unethical, because it was a sneaky peek) and marking down in his book what didn’t work (if it was a repeated problem) and what did.
It’s just too much cute!
EDIT:
His musings, based entirely on his observations of his schoolmates, was turned into a 46-page book which spent five weeks in the New York Times best-seller’s list.
Then in December Fox gave Alec a six-figure film deal.
Simply remarkable!

That boy will be swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck by the time he’s 11.
And you know it’ll change him. He’ll just become a player. =P
I never had any luck with the girls either, and just like you it’s got the point where it just doesn’t bother me too much now either.
